Gracie Ramsdell, LMSW

Individual, Relationship, and Family Therapy

My name is Gracie (she/her), and I am a psychodynamic and systems-oriented therapist who believes that relationships are at the core of living well. My work is grounded in the belief that it is through honest, authentic connection that we find the truest expressions of ourselves.

If you are looking for a therapist who is warm yet direct, able to both honor your despair and laugh with you, and is committed to creating a shame-free space where you contain "no bad parts," then I’d love to hear from you.

Welcome

My therapeutic approach

Psychodynamics
Psychodynamic psychotherapy aims to help you develop insight into the patterns, belief systems (conscious and unconscious), important relationships, and emotional material driving how you experience life. This involves both exploration of the past, and the past’s role in the present.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed

IFS is a model that posits that we all have a community of “parts” within us, and those parts are working hard to take the best possible care of us. Sometimes, however, our parts can either get carried away, or come into conflict with each other. If we can compassionately listen to our parts, and give them all a role to play, we can achieve greater internal harmony and freedom.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT is primarily used in relationship or family therapy (though it can be useful in individual as well), and it strives to help people develop greater emotional connection by focusing on circular patterns of relating, emotional specificity, and recreating new, affirming emotional experiences.

Other important frameworks

While the aforementioned models are the three that most inform my practice, I often draw from others, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the neurobiology of the autonomic nervous system, and existential psychotherapy. In all my work, I am trauma-informed, and an advocate for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent people.
